A Declaration of Immigration is an exhibition that depicts many of the experiences and viewpoints within U.S. immigrant communities. The works of over 70 artists will help visitors increase their understanding of this complex issue by providing immigrant perspectives that are seldom included in the national debate.

XXXVI ANNUAL FIESTA DEL SOL!

CHICAGO, IL - The Pilsen Neighbors Community Council (PNCC) is proud to announce the 36th Annual Fiesta Del Sol celebration. Hosted in Pilsen, the four-day festival will take place on Thursday, July 31st through Sunday, August 3rd.

Fiesta Del Sol has become a nationally publicized event that now draws over one million people to the streets of Pilsen each summer. All entertainment and activities are free of admission and promote family-friendly entertainment. Unlike other festivals, Fiesta Del Sol is alcohol and tobacco sponsorship-free and this year will focus on health issues, encouraging and promoting a healthy and active lifestyle for all.

WATAIN "invading the USA once again"

One and a half years after their triumphant display of magic and death upon North America, Watain shall now return to those lands on a headliner tour. Due to the strict prohibitions of anything Satanic and Criminal passing over the border to USA, a lot of compromises had to be made on the last US tour regarding both members and stage-show. This time however, the full artillery shall be brought across the sea, in all it's terrible glory.

The first date is on October 3rd and after that the tour shall storm from Canada through USA on what shall constitute the last part of the monstrous crusade that has been the ***** the World Tour.

Salon Victoria en Chicago

Por primera ves en su historia la banda Mexicana Salon Victoria llega a Chicago para deleitar a sus seguidores con sus propuestas de ska y mezclas retro caracteristicas de ellos. A pesar de ser una banda relativamente joven, el Salon Victoria ya esta consolidada como una de las bandas mas importantes del Ska en Mexico.

La banda inicio en !995 con la fusion de "Radio Machete" y La Tosca Puta" y la propuesta fue dirigida hacia a rescates de estilos como el Swing, el Twist, el Surf y el A-go-go, y permeados del estilo Ska-retro.

HELLOWEEN "Hellish Rock 2007/2008"

Helloween es un grupo alemán de Heavy Metal/Power Metal, originarios de Hamburgo, fundada a principios de los 80. En 1985 Helloween grabó su primer álbum, un mini-LP autotitulado que contenía 5 temas. El mini-LP tuvo muchísimo éxito, y durante este mismo año, el entonces cuarteto grabó y lanzó su primer álbum, titulado "Walls of Jericho". Sin embargo, durante el siguiente tour, llegó a ser obvio que Hansen tenía dificultades para cantar y tocar la guitarra al mismo tiempo. La última aparición de Kai como cantante principal de la banda fue en 1986 con el single "Judas", que contenía la canción del mismo nombre y algunos temas en directo. Tras la dificultad de Hansen para tocar la guitarra y cantar a la vez, además de sus constantes problemas con su voz, surgió la idea de incluir a un quinto integrante. Entonces, Helloween empezó a buscar un nuevo cantante. Su primera opción era reclutar a Ralf Scheepers del grupo "Tyran Pace", sin embargo, ante su negativa, la banda terminó por reclutar a un joven de 18 años de una pequeña banda local conocida como "III Prophecy", Michael Kiske.

POLKA MADRE Y LA COMEZON "US TOUR"

Polka Madre (antes así a secas) nació en 2004, en los legendarios jueves de Kramer, un bar clandestino en el sur de la ciudad de México. Eric y Marina juntaron a unos cuantos idiotas asiduos al lugar, que se les unían a hacer un ruido misteriosamente parecido a la música de Europa del Este --polkas, waltzes, música circense...

Con el tiempo intentaron medio refinarse, buscando fusionar ese sonido con algo más oscuro. Así, invitaron a músicos quesque más serios, los cuales fueron y vinieron porque o no les interesaba tocar eso indefinido que se estaba gestando, o porque eran corridos por su mal gusto o por ser demasiado virtuosos y cool. Enrique el clarinetista es el único que ha permanecido de manera comprometida, componiendo y ensayando entregadamente a pesar de sus ocupaciones, entre ellas el ser un tierno padre de familia.

"FINNTROLL EN CHICAGO"

Finntroll es un grupo de folk -black metal procedente de Finlandia. Su estilo es bastante peculiar, pues combinan elementos de black metal con el estilo de polca finesa conocido como humppa. Aunque las raíces del grupo sean finesas, las letras están en sueco, pues éste "suena mucho a troll" según Katla, el primer cantante de la banda, que tiene este idioma como lengua materna.

Manufactura "diez años de andadura industrial"

Manufactura celebra sus diez años de andadura industrial con el lanzamiento de nuevo material. Al nuevo álbum 'Psychogenic Fugue' se le añade un disco limitado a mil copias con material gráfico inédito, grabaciones agotadas desde hace años y remixes imposibles.
